Spring Forward; Fall Back

Embrace Winter
I can't say that I'm exactly looking forward to the grey days of winter but like most New Englanders I've learned to embrace winter. Here's a few ways I'm planning to revel in the cold -

Get outside I can only stay indoors for so long

Buy something colorful and extremely warm to wear

winter trail running, hiking and/or snowshoeing

snowshoe races

green tea

New England winters create some great conditions for ice climbing

"On paper, ice climbing sounds insane. Strap metal claws—crampons—to your boots, grab a couple of ice axes, and attempt to scale a hockey rink turned on its side. In reality, it's not so difficult. Few things in sports feel as satisfying as sinking your crampons and axes into the ice and having them stick like glue—it's simply amazing."
